Correspondence of Coates-Kinney [manuscript], 1869 January 4 and 18.

A letter from S. H. Kauffmann, Washington, D.C., to Kinney asks Kinney to confirm his authorship of the poem "Rain on the roof." Kinney replies that the poem is his and asks Kauffmann to print it in "The Evening Star" with a "vigorous denunciation of thieves."
